Different countries have different keyboard layouts. The UK and US use a standard Qwerty layout, which refers to the order of the first keys on the top left corner of the keyboard. Other countries have different key layouts according to their need for accents and other local requirements. If you want to change the keyboard layout of your PC, you can plug in a different keyboard and configure Windows to support this, using the Control Panel icon in Windows 3.1 or the Start/Settings menu option in Windows 95.
